Meet Julie...

Hi my name is Julie Sonack and I am the creator and founder of Little Cherub Press. I am a Christian and I practice the Catholic faith. I have been writing and illustrating books for over 20 years, but feel strongest and most passionate about promoting good values and God's word through my books.

I believe in our current world it is a challenge to keep our children and grandchildren connected to God's love and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,  even if they are getting some form of formal training. These books were designed to hopefully help you in some way by providing value focused stories and activity suggestions to reinforce these values.

My initial love of drawing stemmed from childhood. In those days our parents didn't bring us for playdates and we didn't even go to kindergarten. There were no other kids in our neighborhood so I was alone a lot and began to draw and color to fill that void. As is often God's plan, this has turned out to be one of my greatest blessings. One summer I asked my parents if I could paint the inside of our garage with murals of the characters from Peanuts. My  parents said yes and a lifelong love of painting murals and drawing characters was born. From there I sought out a degree in Fine Arts with additional focuses  in psychology and education, as well as a master's degree in Occupational Therapy. These areas of interest, along with a deep love of God and Jesus Christ, has led me in the direction of creating these books and art work for children and adults.

My husband and I  have raised 2 sons and have experienced the struggle of dealing with issues of the world while trying to keep them connected to what I consider to be our true world, with God. Although they are now grown, many of the books came out of my experiences raising these 2 wonderful souls.

It is my sincerest hope that this website serves to benefit each and everyone who visits it on purpose or by chance, and that the love and passion I feel for the work that I do is felt by everyone who crosses my path.

God Bless,

Julie
